Terms and Conditions
Last updated August 6, 2026
These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to all purchases, registrations, and the use of the digital service Veault ("Service"), offered via www.veault.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1) About Us
Veault is a secure digital vault portal for managing personal information and documents.
The Service is offered by:
Leval AS
Asperholen 58A
4329 Sandnes
Norway
Org. number: 935 999 170
Email: contact@veault.com
2) Service Description
Veault offers a secure digital vault in which you can manage and store confidential information and documents. The core of our Service is a zero-knowledge architecture.
This includes:
- Zero-Knowledge Encryption: All content you store in your vault is encrypted on your device (client-side) with AES-256 encryption before it is sent to our servers. Veault does not have the encryption keys and cannot view or decrypt the contents of your vault in any way.
- File Uploads: The ability to securely upload and store documents and other files in your encrypted vault.
- Encrypted Drafts: Functionality for saving draft versions, which are also encrypted client-side immediately.
3) Account & Access
To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are solely responsible for keeping your login credentials and vault password secure.
Due to our zero-knowledge architecture, we do not have access to your vault password. If you lose your password, we cannot recover it, and you may permanently lose access to your vault data.
4) No Legal Advice
Veault helps you organize your personal information and (any) Digital Legacy, but is not a legal or notarial product. The Service is not a substitute for legal advice. Always consult a qualified professional for wills, advance directives, or other legal matters.
5) Subscription Models and Payment
5.1) Free Trial
We offer a 30-day free trial. During this period, certain features, such as downloading data, may be limited.
5.2) Paid Subscriptions
For full access to the Service, we offer various paid subscription plans (such as Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime). Current applicable prices for these subscriptions are clearly displayed on our website and at the time of purchase. Prices include VAT, unless stated otherwise.
5.3) Payment
Payments are processed via our third-party provider Stripe. Veault does not store credit card or full payment details directly.
5.4) Management and Cancellation
You can manage your subscription yourself (upgrade, downgrade, or cancel) via your account portal.
6. Statutory Right of Withdrawal and Commercial Guarantee
6.1. Statutory Right of Withdrawal (Cooling-off Period)
As a consumer within the EU/EEA, you have the statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days without giving any reason.
6.2. Immediate Performance and Proportional Reimbursement upon Withdrawal
The Service is an ongoing digital service: upon your explicit request, we provide you with access immediately after purchase, including during the statutory 14-day cooling-off period. This immediate access does not affect your right of withdrawal: you can still withdraw from the agreement within 14 days of purchase, without stating any reason.
If you withdraw from the agreement after performance of the Service has begun, you will owe us an amount proportional to the portion of the Service already received up to the moment of withdrawal, calculated relative to the total agreed price for the subscription period concerned (in the case of a Lifetime subscription: relative to the duration and extent of use compared to the purchase price). The remaining portion of your payment will be refunded to you.
6.3. Commercial Money-Back Guarantee
Apart from the above, we offer a commercial 30-day money-back guarantee that applies exclusively to the Lifetime subscription. If you are not satisfied within 30 days after purchasing a Lifetime subscription, you can request a full refund via contact@veault.com.
7) Data Collection and Privacy
Your privacy is central. For a full and detailed explanation of how we collect, use, and protect data, as well as what rights you have, please refer to our separate Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. Below is a summary:
7.1) Account Details
To manage your account, we collect: Email address, first and last name, language preference, market information, and subscription status. If you request our free guide, we collect your email address and first name for that purpose.
7.2) Vault Data (Zero-Knowledge)
All content you enter or upload into your vault is encrypted client-side. We cannot decrypt or view this data.
7.3) Payment Details
Billing information and payments are handled by Stripe.
8) Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe: For processing payments and managing subscriptions.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): For hosting our servers and sending transactional, support, and marketing emails.
- Vercel: For hosting our marketing website.
- Neon: For the database storing contact details of visitors who request the free guide.
- Vemetric: For privacy-friendly website traffic analytics (no cookies, no PII, GDPR-compliant).
- Google: Only with your consent via our cookie banner, for measuring ad effectiveness.
9) Data Storage and Security
All data is stored within the EU region. We maintain a strict zero-knowledge architecture and apply enterprise-grade security measures.
10) Email Communication
We use your email address for essential emails (login codes, subscription updates), support, and (if you give consent) optional marketing.
11) User Rights
You have the right, among other things, to download your vault data, update your profile, and permanently delete your account. A full overview of your rights can be found in our Privacy Policy.
12) Key Privacy Features
- No tracking cookies or browser storage without consent: We do not place cookies or similar browser storage (such as local storage) for tracking or advertising purposes without your prior consent via our cookie banner. For more information, please see our Cookie Policy.
- Privacy-Friendly Analytics: Our analytics via Vemetric do not require explicit consent.
- Client-Side Encryption: We cannot read your content.
13. Liability
Veault is designed with maximum care and security. Our liability is excluded for, unless otherwise mandated by applicable law:
- Loss of access to the vault due to forgetting or losing the password.
- Errors or omissions in the data you enter yourself.
- Disruptions or interruptions of the Service beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to liability, or, in the case of a Lifetime subscription, the total purchase price.
This limitation of liability does not apply in cases of intent, gross negligence on our part, or in cases of injury to life, body, or health.
14. Sustainability, Modification, and Termination of the Service
14.1. 'Lifetime' Sustainability
For "Lifetime" subscriptions, we aim for sustainable, long-term storage of your data. A portion of the one-time payment is reserved in a fund intended to continue covering the operational hosting costs of the Service in the future.
14.2. Modification and Termination
We reserve the right to improve, modify, or, in extreme cases (such as bankruptcy or a fundamental change in market conditions), discontinue the Service.
Should the Service ever be permanently discontinued, we will inform you in a timely manner (at least 3 months in advance, if reasonably possible) and offer you the opportunity to export all your vault data in a downloadable format.
15. Intellectual Property
All technology, designs, and content of Veault remain the intellectual property of Leval AS. As a customer, you receive a personal, non-transferable right of use for the duration of your subscription.
16. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution
This agreement is governed by Norwegian law.
However, if you are a consumer residing in another country within the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), this choice of law does not affect the protection you enjoy under mandatory provisions of the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
Disputes will preferably be resolved through mutual consultation. If this is not possible, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Norway, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to submit a dispute to the competent court in your place of residence (within the EU/EEA).
17. Questions
